The game starts with the ‘Boot’ or ante. This is the agreed minimum bet. This money is placed at the centre of the table and will grow as the game proceeds. The dealer deals the cards anti-clockwise. Each player receives three cards in total.
Players then decide whether they want to play ‘seen’ (can see your cards) or ‘blind’ (cards remain face down).
In turn, the players then bet on their hand – whether seen or blind. When it is their turn they must either: bet, fold or ask for a sideshow.
Betting Teen Patti for Real Money ‘blind’
If you are playing blind, you must bet at least the current stake (Boot) for each round.
You can fold at any time. You can also choose to look at your cards, at which point you move from playing ‘blind’ to playing ‘seen’. The betting will change accordingly.
Betting ‘seen’
If you choose to view your cards, you must bet at least as much as the current stake (if the player who bet before you had seen his cards too) or at least twice (if the player who bet before you was playing blind).
The current stake for the next player is then the amount that you bet (if he’s playing blind as well) or twice the amount that you bet (if he has seen his cards already).
How to win
The players keep betting until one of the following happens:
- All except one player has folded. The remaining player, irrespective of the cards they hold, wins the pot.
- Only two players remain and one of those players bets for a show. Then the two hands are compared, and the winner is the person with the highest scoring hand. (See ranking of hands below.)
Rules for a show
A show is allowed when there are only two players still active.
In a show, both players’ cards are exposed. The player whose hand is higher ranking wins the pot. If the hands are equal, the player who requested the show loses.
A sideshow is when a player, during their turn, requests the player who bet immediately before them to compare hands. That player can accept or refuse the sideshow. If accepted, the player with the lower ranking hand must immediately fold. If they are equal, the player who asked for the sideshow must fold.
If the sideshow is refused, the game continues as usual.
